Sustainability

Not an empty statement, but a project pursued since the birth of the company. Attention to the climate and the environment manifested with daily actions and implemented through:

  • safeguarding the "vineyard" ecosystem

  • natural vinifications

  • energy efficiency

The biodiversity strategy

We practice a coherent and strategic soil biodiversification with the aim of preventing the vineyard from becoming a monoculture. The biodiversity that we have built and safeguarded in the vineyard allows us to avoid the use of pesticides. And so, our vineyards are covered with grass all year round, interrupted and surrounded by other crops and by large areas of Mediterranean scrub, but not only flowers and shrubs, even trees: vertical hot spots that make the vineyard a place of attraction for insects, birds and small animals, as well as for yeasts and bacteria competing with the harmful ones.

The result is a sustainable balance that allows us, year after year, to decrease the use of health protections, even those allowed in organic farming.

Natural vinifications

Healthy and balanced grapes for wines rich in personality

From a balanced and highly biodiverse terroir we obtain healthy, intensely aromatic grapes and, above all, biologically stable Calabrian wines with high aging potential.

Our Magliocco and Guarnaccia grapes, thanks to their microbial diversity, allow us simple and natural winemaking procedures during which we reduce or completely eliminate the use of sulphites, as well as sizing and stabilization means. It is no coincidence that our wines are certified organic, as well as in Italy, also by a prestigious Swiss certification body: BioInspecta.

Energy efficiency

Do our part in defense of the climate and the environment

We try to minimize our footprint on the environment and therefore: photovoltaic system for the energy needs of the cellar, reuse and recycling of every possible waste: from lees to marc, from water to glass, separate collection of all other materials and, above all, a drastic and progressive reduction, up to zero, of the use of plastic materials which are currently responsible for a large part of the damage to our planet.
